These awards honor the efforts of hotel and tourism enterprises working to reduce the negative impacts of their activities by increasing their benefits, not only for the company but also for the local community, the environment and the tourists.
Promoted by the Responsible Tourism Observatory TSI-Turismo Sant Ignasi (Ramon Llull University) along with the ICRT Barcelona & Catalonia, these awards are organized within the framework of the 7th Conference on Responsible Tourism in Destinations Barcelona-Catalonia will held in Barcelona from 1 to 4 October. This is a global forum that will bring together more than 300 professionals worldwide from local international and intergovernmental organizations, national governments, and tourism and hospitality companies to discuss progress in the sustainable management of tourism and remaining challenges responsible tourism destinations.
The Directorate General of Tourism, the Catalan Tourism, Barcelona City Council, Barcelona Provincial Council and Barcelona Tourism collaborate in the organization of this conference, demonstrating the commitment of institutions in the development of Catalonia and Barcelona as a destination involved in construction of responsible tourism.
The Hotel Samba in Lloret de Mar (Costa Brava) has been nominated for Responsible I Catalunya Awards in the category of large tourism accommodation.
