Barcelona is a city of contrasts where history combines with modernity, the sea with the mountain and the traditions with the most innovative trends. Panorama offers an excursion that will allow you to enjoy the most emblematic places of the city.
We will start with a panoramic tour through the elegant Paseo de Gracia, where you will find the most famous buildings of Gaudí, Casa Batlló and La Casa Milà (La Pedrera) as well as other majestic buildings of Modernism.
Then we will go to the sea to admire the changes that the city experienced with the celebration of the 1992 Olympic Games. We will go through the Arc de Triomphe, the citadel park, the Olympic village, the Olympic Port, the beach and the neighborhood of fishermen of the Barceloneta, the Port Vell, the Plaza de Colón, where the monument to Columbus is located and where the emblematic Ramblas promenade begins, until reaching the mountain of Montjuïc, the most dynamic mountain in the city. In Montjuïc we will go to the Lluis Companys Olympic stadium where we will make a brief stop. Then we will ascend to the cable car station near Montjuïc Castle where you will enjoy an aerial ride with a stunning view of Barcelona. The bus will pick us up again at the arrival station and then we will continue our tour in Montjuïc passing through the Olympic sports facilities until we reach Poble Espanyol. We will visit this charming place where a selection of typical constructions from all over Spain is collected, which host a sample of the craftsmanship of our country.
Finally, we will leave Montjuïc and return to the center of the city, passing through the spectacular Plaza de España, where you can admire the Venetian Towers, the fountains of Montjuïc, the MNAC and the CC Las Arenas built on the former Plaza de Toros of the same first name. We will arrive at the Plaza de Catalunya, where we will start our guided tour on foot through the historic center: Las Ramblas, the Plaza de la Catedral, the streets of the Gothic Quarter and the Plaça St. Jaume, where the Town Hall and the seat of the Government are located of Catalunya. Our tour ends at Plaza de Catalunya, in front of the Hard Rock Café, in the center of the city and at a 10 minute walk from our office.
Departure time 3:30 pm, presentation on Balmes street, 5 at 3:15 pm.
In the second part of the tour we will take you to know with a little more detail the other side of Barcelona, capital of Modernism thanks to some of the great innovators of his time, Antoni Gaudí. This famous architect left in his way numerous treasures to discover by the demanding tourist. We will begin with the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia, a masterpiece that Gaudí left unfinished, the most famous monument in Barcelona where we will make a walking tour of its exterior, from where it is noticed that its vaults reach up to sixty meters high and are abundant and symbolically decorated. We will continue the journey in the direction of the fantastic Park Güell, which was declared an artistic monument and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Be careful, as it is easy to get lost in this capricious design, a perfect integration of architectural elements in nature.
Finally we will walk through the Passeig de Gràcia, to admire Gaudí’s famous buildings such as Casa Milà “La Pedrera” and Casa Batlló, as well as other magnificent modernist buildings. The visit ends near the Casa Batlló – Passeig de Gràcia, 43.
